Game Clock

Putting a clock on each page would be useful to always know the game time. As it is, I often have to make spammish guild messages such as "Timecheck" whenever I need to know the game time.

yes this is an excellent idea, would be very useful for knowing when you can do a dungeon again without trying to figure out the time in whatever timezone the game is in.


to the above post, its not the same for me.... when a dungeon says I should be able to do a dungeon at say 6 am, that time does not match with forum times or my timezone.

I mean in our game preferences it asks us our timezone, why doesnt it change the times in game to your timezone?

oh kay.....neither to me :S

still they could put the server time as GMT+0
then ppl add or take hours from that time depending on their timezone

What for do you have your computer clock?
You know how to calculate,you can use your stopwatch and you have
a stopwatch in the tabname bar!

um no its not unnecessary I mean really how hard would it be to put a game clock in the game????

It is really frustrating not knowing the exact time in my timezone when the dungeon will expire, having to travel and then wait 3 hours and waste 3 dungeon points cause I cant do dungeon yet.

It would be very convenient, and why should I HAVE to do math to find out when I can do it, I already graduated and dont want to be forced to figure things out when it can simply be put in the game.


If you look at your profile tab, it asks you your postcode, that could easily be used to determine your game clock

how dificult is to calculate the next dungeon or what you need and to fix your GTM , damn some hard stuf, do the math i never had a problem whit this and u have a clock on the forum (and a new update whit this = bugs= sugething to take out the clock = nothing )

ok I dont understand the insinuated insults (I'm not dumb, so watch your tongue), I'm not saying in essence it is hard to do, I'm saying it would be MORE CONVENIENT to have a Game clock that corresponded to your area! Rather than having to figure out what time it really is in game. Its not hard to put in the game OMG do I need to post 10 different scipts that would work in game to show everyone the time, are you guys that thickheaded to think this is more of a hassle than convienient, GF isnt dumb this could be implemented in 1 freakin minute.

I think SQ is right here, its not a matter of how hard it is for us to keep track of time, but how easy it would be for GF to implement this.

A more practical example would be clocks on walls.... or on my desk for instance. I have a computer on my desk, and that computer can keep track of my life and tell me the time whenever I want it. But sometimes it is just easier to use my planner and to look at the clock sitting on my desk.

Having the time on the game screen for you, the server time, is kind of like the clock on your desk. You can glance at it while you work without having to hassle with changing screens or pulling up a clock from your hiding menu bar and so on.....just like you would be able to glance at the server time on any game screen without having to look at your recent messages or go to a quest screen or open multiple tabs, lol. Just more convenient is all :D

The issue here is not the existence or difficulty for work-arounds.

The issue here is the convenience of a RT game clock and how it adds to the flow of the game.

And Ibro, the more a suggestion is coming up, the more likely it is that the suggestion has merit.

Some of you may never have heard the concept of "game flow"... that is the continuous, UNIMPEDED flow of intent that a gamer has with the game environment. Part of a job of a good software company is to facilitate UNIMPEDED play... with side-calculations and the like.

This clock removes one of these flow-impeding side-calculations with trivial code, and keeps the game self-contained. I don't know who is in charge of making decisions at GameForge, but he should recognize what I'm writing with the perfunctory obviousness as scratching an itch, and implement this game time.

I am amazed that it was not implemented yet, frankly.

SanQuetsal, I think that GF has enough of programmers and serious developers to do that if they want and think that is needed ;)

I am sure we can find lot of capable persons on this forum who can make that code or find it somewhere and then implement it to some page or portal or website. Even myself.
But that's not our job. And even those persons who are doing that job are not deciding about it, so I don't see need for posting such codes here :P


Suggested again, even zulu suggested it once(long time ago) and it wasn't implemented.

The proper person to ask is the person concerned with game-flow and quality. He/she will see the sense, then he tells the programmers what to do. If I had to wait to make a change until my PROGRAMMERS thought it was a good idea, we'd never get anything done.

Suggestions are never forwarded to programmers, we forward them to people who decide about these things. If they decide that it should be implemented, they will order programmers to implement it :P

Back to topic. Its not about GF programmers/developers. Its about ingame clock.

Clearly this discussion is moot. It's arlready been suggested ages ago, we have reminded them last week about it. The idea has clear merrits and has my full support.
